SIGN UP FOR THE PARISH DIRECTORY
Plans are underway for our new pictorial directory! Our goal is to include every parishioner! Each family who has their picture taken will receive a FREE 8x10 and a FREE directory. You will be able to view your portraits immediately after being photographed and you will be given the opportunity to purchase additional portraits & directories for you and your family. Our photo sessions will be BY APPOINTMENT on August 2, 3, and 4. (Correction from last weekend’s insert: The Aug. 4 time slots are the same as Aug. 2 and 3.) We especially encourage families with college students to take advantage of these dates. More sessions are available on September 22, 23, 24, & 25th. You may make an appointment online by visiting our website www.holyspiritunoh.org or signing up at the table after Mass. THANK YOU in advance for making this a successful project! Directories are not only convenient but an important part of a church’s history. Please make plans to have your portrait taken. Please click on the LifeTouch link to schedule your appointment.

CHANGES TO MASS TIME IN SEPTEMBER, 2010
Our Parish Council has decided to reduce the number of Masses on Sunday from three to two beginning in the fall of 2010. Some of the reasons for this decision are:

1. The Diocese has asked parishes to reduce the number of Masses due to the shortage of priests.
2. The present number of those attending Mass does not warrant three Masses.
3. The Liturgy is enhanced when the Church is full.
4. The declining number of priests will not support three Masses in the future.
5. It will enable our pastor to visit PSR classes.
6. It enables the scheduling of PSR between Masses, eliminating the conflict of attending Mass and PSR.
7. It prepares the parish for when we will have to share a priest with another parish.

After discussing several alternatives, the Council decided on the following schedule to begin September, 2010:
Sundays: 1st Mass at 8:30 a.m., PSR: 9:45-10:45 a.m. (1 hour), and 2nd Mass at 11:00 a.m.

Saturday Mass and the summer Mass schedule will remain unchanged.

DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE INTERESTED IN BECOMING CATHOLIC
Why do people become Catholic? There are many reasons. One of the reasons is because someone asked them to consider it. Your asking may be the grace they need to say yes. Look for an opportunity to ask someone in your family or neighborhood to consider becoming Catholic. Contact Fr. John or the Office (330-699-4500) if you or someone you know is interested in learning what it means to be Catholic.
