TIME TO START THINKING, VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL!
Volunteers are needed for this summer’s VBS week of fun set for June 24-28 from 9:30am-noon each day. This year’s theme , Living in God’s Kingdom, will compare members of the Catholic Church to citizens of a medieval castle village. Just like life in the medieval village, many people are needed at VBS to make it a success. Adult volunteers will be needed to help with snacks, crafts, skits, bible stories, music and much more. Those interested in being part of the village that makes VBS a success should contact Cathy at the parish office.

FIRST STEP FOR CHANGE
Catholic Charities will hold its annual First Step for Change campaign again this year, honoring the faith, humility and love it takes to raise a child, and recognizing that many parents lack adequate financial resources for their children. Funds raised through this campaign assist low-income expectant parents and families with food, formula, clothing, diapers, and other items essential to a child’s health, safety and well-being. Each family interested in participating is asked to pick up a FIRST STEP PACKET after Mass this weekend. Take the FIRST STEP PACKET home, learn about the program, prayerfully consider a gift, and return your envelopes to our Parish by June 30th. All money collected by our Parish will help to meet the needs in our own community! Thank you for joining us in supporting this pro-life campaign.

VBS PLANS ARE UNDERWAY, SAVE THE DATE!
Vacation Bible School (VBS) provides an opportunity for parishioners to utilize their creative talents in ways that will positively impact the faith lives of children, youth and other adults of our parish. Many adults are needed to plan this year’s week-long summer VBS program that will be taking place June 24-28 from 9:30am-noon. There will be a planning meeting to learn more about volunteering at VBS Wednesday, May 29 at 6:30pm in the meeting room or contact Cathy Kasza at the parish office.

MAGNIFICAT OF STARK COUNTY
Magnificat of Stark County, a ministry to Catholic women, invites you to a breakfast on Saturday June 8th. Doors open at 8:00 Mass at 8:30am. Please join us for a special time of fellowship and sharing. Our guest speaker is Holly Linger.
Holly is a parishioner of St. Hilary’s in Fairlawn. She and her husband, Tim, are the parents of five children. From an early age, Holly had a strong faith and a powerful encounter with God. Throughout the years, many life circumstances would challenge this faith. During her freshman year of high school, an airplane crash caused her family to take in three orphaned children. Family life suddenly changed dramatically. Then in college, Holly met her future husband, Tim, a Protestant. Leaving the Catholic Church to explore non-denominational fellowship as a newlywed, her faith would be shaken like never before with a complicated pregnancy. Their firstborn son, Jacob, would live only three months. Desperate to baptize him at the news that doctors couldn’t save his life, Holly began to search for the truth about infant baptism. Holly and Tim would lose two more infant children. Through it all, God was slowly revealing the truth of the Catholic Church. Cost: $25 Mail-in/$26 Online. For more information about our speaker and to make your reservation visit magnificatstark.weebly.com or call Sally Kohring at 330-484-1623. Reservations cannot be accepted after June 1st, 2024. New Location -Holiday Inn Canton, 4520 Everhard Road NW, Canton.
