Why We're Confirmed?
Immediate Preparation Process
Youth will be invited to begin the immediate preparation process for Confirmation in the spring of 8th grade and will celebrate Confirmation in the fall of 9th grade. The months in between will be filled with formational sessions and activities laid out below. Although youth may be confirmed in 9th grade, their catechetical formation began years prior. Older teens who have not yet been confirmed and those who have not regularly attended PSR but are seeking to be confirmed may be asked to participate in additional formation to ensure readiness for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Attend Orientation
Complete the Information/Intention forms that were mailed to you with your invitation and return them at the orientation session on Sunday, May 4th at 10:35 am in the meeting room.

Submit Confirmation Fee & Registration Form
The confirmation fee supplements the various components of our confirmation program. Utilize the link below for online payment or attach payment to the fee form in your folder and return to the parish office by June 1, 2025.
Participate in Rite of Enrollment
& Formation Session
June 1, 2025
Express your desire to be confirmed at the
9:30 am Sunday liturgy. Following mass there will be a formation session from
10:35 am 11:50 am in the parish social hall. More details on the link below.
Attend the Days of Service
Discipleship calls us to share Christ's love through serving others. Candidates will answer that call through planned service learning events on
Thursday, June 5 & Aug 7 from 4:30 pm-7:30 pm.
(Details will be provided at the orientation meeting.)
Attend Summer Gathering
Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 6:30- 9:00 pm.
Your journey of discipleship began with baptism. With the nice summer weather, water and the Spirit will be our focus at this gathering.
Submit a Copy of Your Baptismal Certificate
For those NOT baptized at Holy Spirit parish, please contact the parish of baptism and request a copy of the candidates baptismal certificate.
Register & Attend Sunday Morning Youth Ministry Formation Sessions
Session will begin Sunday, September 7, 2025. Those preparing for Confirmation are expected to attend all the formation sessions held on Sunday mornings from 10:30 am-11:50 am. Registration link below.

Select a Sponsor
Choosing a confirmation sponsor is an important decision. There are many aspects to consider. Here are some tips and information to aid sponsors in their roles.
After a candidate has chosen their sponsor, please inform us of their choice by submitting the sponsor selection form.
Then request that the candidate ask their sponsor to please complete and submit this sponsor certificate verifying their eligibility to be a sponsor.

Complete Video Series with Sponsor
Watch this series of three videos with your sponsor and complete the questions together. Recommended to be done in a few different sessions. Submit questions before the Confirmation Retreat in October.

Attend Guest Speaker Session
Attend the guest speaker session with
your parent and/or sponsor on Sunday, September 21
from 6:30- 8:30 pm at Holy Spirit Parish.
Attend Confirmation Retreat
October 19, 2025 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Candidates, along with a parent or sponsor, spend the day deepening their relationship with Jesus and others. Register for the Confirmation retreat at the link below.

Celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation
All candidates must celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation close to the time of their confirmation. Opportunities at Holy Spirit parish include:
- At the Confirmation Retreat
- During parish opportunities after mass (see bulletin for exact dates)
- By appointment
Act of Contrition

Select a Confirmation Name
Bishop Bonnar requests that candidates for the Sacraments of Confirmation use an officially recognized Saint's name from the Roman Catholic Church.
Use the links below to for information on how to choose a name and a list of possible Saints. Then complete and submit the Confirmation Name Form indicating the name of the saint you have choosen. (see links below)
Participate in Rehearsal for Confirmation Liturgy
Rehearsal for candidates and sponsors will take place before the liturgy. See the information below under Arrival Time.
Confirmation Liturgies
Confirmation celebrations are held at St. Paul Parish in North Canton on (date to be determined). Families can choose to celebrate the Sacrament at either the 10:30am or 2:00pm Mass times. Please discuss which works best for your family and submit your choice.
*Final dates are set by the Bishops office.
Families will be notified of the date as soon as dates
become known.
Arrival Time for Confirmation Liturgies:
- Candidates & Sponsors - 1 hour before mass begins (for rehearsal)
- Family & Friends - must be seated 10 minutes before mass begins
Attire for Liturgy
- Male – suit or dress pants, dress shirt, tie, colored dress socks (no white), dress shoes, jacket if have one (do not buy one for this occasion but if need it for something else then go ahead)
- Female – modest dress or skirt & blouse, dress shoes (no flip flops), no shirts or dresses with thin straps unless wearing non see- through jacket/sweater/top that is to be worn at ALL times
- Appropriate jewelry, hair, and facial grooming
